No one is concerned with your record in making predictions about something you have no back ground in. (End dss copy, Rudi writing below) LOL! Thanks for sharing, David Stodolski. My initial reaction was, "Kiss my ass, you arrogant, annoying, impractical, ivory towered academic idiot." However, I as you can see, I have thought better of this and not posted it. (Irony intended.) And, having thought about it a bit further, you actually have a point. I did not reference "unbiased scientific journals" in this posting. I would, however, be happy to take an informal poll of my credibility and effectiveness in the cryonics community compared to yours. No, you don't need to point out that this is irrevalent to when we have lab based cryonics. But it MAY be relevant to whether your cryonet postings show you are an asshole or not. :) My vote is that you are. But, I am just one data point. LOL! And, to be fair, you probably, almost certainly, have many qualities to like and admire. And, I promise, we won't get in a pissing match devolving to flame wars over yet another example of your evident inability to be likeable even when you are right as demonstrated in the above posting. I don't have the time or inclination to do this. Perhaps you are in some subsidized ivory tower, but some of us get paid in direct proportion to our real world effectiveness. But your point remains, and, if you would not have put it in such an astonishingly annoying way, I would actually agree with it. (!) Most fields of scientfic and technological endeavor have peer reviewed journals, and, alac and alas, the field of cryonics does not. Drs. Brian Wowk and Greg Fahy do occasionally publish findings in cryobiology journals. We have "Cryonics" magazine and "Long Life" which almost certainly would be considered more like "house organs/journals" as opposed to scholarly publications. I could be wrong, I often am, but I am not aware of "peer reviewed, scientific journals or publications" specifically aimed at the technical side of cryonics. Even if these existed, it is unlikely they would inform further whether my speculative dates are so blazingly out of touch with reality as to impact my credibility with the cryonet audience. Or the scientifically oriented world at large. And, for the record, David, I am not a workbench scientist, just a very interested and reasonably well read layman. And, the analogies others and myself have provided about "experts" saying a given science or technology will never happen are widely known. I am sorry, David, if you think I should provide a footnote or website or Google reference for every observation or point. Do you want me to reference "Technology Review" or Kurzwiel's "Singularity is Near" or the 15 magazines of science and technology I read? How about a layman's background of hundreds of science books read over the last five or ten years? Or the hundreds of hours listening to publications, podcasts, and training tapes devoted to epistemology, skepticism, self-improvement, rational thinking, and logic? How many cryonics conferences have you attended, David? I have attended every Alcor conference held over the last 14 years, and spent much personal time with the world class researchers discussing this exact topic. How many of you were at the Suspended Animation Conference...the nearest thing cryonics has to a technical and scientific summit? I was there, as a speaker and participant, deeply involved in this exciting and potentially life saving field. But of course I could be wrong...even way wrong. But posting references is not required in this context, David. So, like I am trying NOT to write again, "Kiss my ass." So, in conclusion, if I were to really take my several readings of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" to heart, I would hit "Delete" instead of "send" to close this posting. Even if I were to consider parts of this posting "clever" this posting probably does not add to the sum total of harmony and wisdom in the world. And, if your posting above were the only instance of you being a bit of an asshole on this forum, I would like to give myself the credit to say I would hit the "delete" key instead of the "send" key. I have held my tongue...or my keyboard fingers...in check in the past. Allowing others to respond to some of your earlier anti-capitalist rantings, as well as some other silliness promulgated by you with a superior, arrogant, and annoying manner. (Sorry, I won't reference or footnote this statement either.) Instead, I will trust my many friends...and clients...on this forum to think the best of me. Despite not having what might display a more sterling character of ignoring the snippings and snippiness of a evidently frustrated academic named David. This is not the start of a flame war between David S. and myself...I will probably let any further comments go with no response. Good luck to us all, and let's get on with the business of winning in life.
