X-Message-Number: 29805 Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2007 12:30:23 -0400 (EDT) From: Dan Hitt <> Subject: We should try to make women all feel welcome In response to un person's message 29798: I'm sure it wasn't un's intent (and i'm absolutely certain un is a man) to make women feel uncomfortable, but if we say women are becoming man-like in order to be employed (because of whatever outside reasons), it sure may make some women feel uncomfortable. And for the women who disagree, it may be awkward to try to respond. I think that Chris M (29786) is right: We are all on the same side. Does anyone here think we can afford not to be? I'm not saying that un was doing anything intentional, but we all (including me) can be more sensitive. (And i'm also not commenting [agree or disagree] on the rest of un's message, which should be thought about. After all he is one of us few.) dan Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=29805
