There are a handful of threads that include some recent namecalling and such between a former SA employee and an SA apologist, plus about two other people who seem to side with the former employee. These have to do with personnel issues and disagreements about SA perfusion procedures. They have nothing even remotely to do with Alcor. And they are not the typical thing I've usually seen on Cold Filter -- they will pass as other such discussions have done. On the other hand, there have always been questions raised there about what is going on inside all the cryonics organizations. Most of the ones I've seen have been fair questions -- such as with Alcor: What is their current standby readiness capability? Why is their executive board self-elected and thereby self-perpetuating? I suppose it could be stretched to consider such questions "attacks" on Alcor's status quo, but I would think that anyone who does that suffers from a religiously analogous problem of a different sort from that which Un Person mentions -- namely, that of being "the true believer". Read the book, Un: http://www.amazon.com/True-Believer-Thoughts-Movements-Perennial/dp/0060505915/ Alcor is not that which if you blindly defend, it will answer all your questions and problems. It is just a cryonics organization that will perfuse and freeze you and your hope. Get real and deal with the lack of answers for things that have none, lest you fall deeper into the trap like "Phil" and his devotion to "Classical Future Humanism". -- We've Got Your Name @ www.mail.com!!!
