X-Message-Number: 2997 From: (David Stodolsky) Subject: CRYONICS: Insurance for cryonics Date: Thu, 18 Aug 94 12:12:35 +0200 (MET DST) Insurance for cryonics should consider the unique possibilities of suspension. That is, the person is expected to recover - and be able to pay back any excess or unexpected costs. That is, the insurance company would be able to bet that cryonics would work and they would have the incentive to assist research in this direction. The legal foundation for this would be a contract between the patient and, in the first instance, the organization responsible for reanimation. Later, these contacts could be sold to insurance companies (at a discount) to raise capital. Even later the companies could offer a new, reduced cost, life insurance policies for members of cryonics organizations. David S. Stodolsky, PhD Internet: Peder Lykkes Vej 8, 4. tv.
