It seems to me, lately, that Benjamin Franklin ought
to be a more common reference point in cryonics-- than
he's been--  for the madeira wine comment of course-- 
but further in terms of having a desire to see the far
future of the American Republic-- and thinking of a
physical way to do that... making him a true
futurenaut-- and finally for his connection to the
origination of the political position he represented
which can clearly be seen, in total, as a resistance
to the British Empire and oligicharcism. 

His consideration of suspended animation and, at the
same time, resistance to oligarchism-- is a vital
reference point to consider right now today. The
American republic, and sovereign nation-state
republics worldwide, are essentially still under
attack from oligarcism through globalism. By
reconsidering Franklin's ideas-- and purpose-- through
the common link between him and cryonics-- madeira
wine-- we might yet still accomplish our mission.
