I hope to have time again sometime next year to try to get it back and running. For those who are interested, don't bother to pay a fee, especially at first. Just login free. "Uvvy Island" is a transhumanist center, among other things. There is a chapter of the World Transhumanist Association there, although it has also had difficulties keeping together. The total population of Second Life is small, and of course, it is not a population, but people logging in when they have the time. That is one problem, among others, with virtual worlds as centers of realistic activity. Many organizations however could not do better than to use Second Life as a free synchronous virtual teleconferencing/meeting place if its people are separated in Real Life. For those who believe in the possibility of uploading into virtual worlds, Second Life is also an interesting glimpse into a potential future... :) Greg Never miss a thing.
