I was at a lecture last week by one of the leaders in the field of  
neuropsychology. He told me during a break, that he had gotten a  
request via an Intel spin off company, that almost certainly  
originated from the CIA, to participate in research which would apply  
his approach to 'lie detection.' So, any application like this is  
still a long way off and it may never work. Any claim that a current  
device can 'read thoughts' is sensationalistic crap.
