Subject: MACROCRYONICS-- Big context issues ignored
Big issues in the world at large ought to have been
part of the online discussions of cryonicists over the
years. There's more to that than nanotech. Macrotech
is alive and well and will determine our futures for
the next 100 years. Maglev rails, nuclear power and
isotope production are key.
Over the next several months, the world at large will
be going through hyperinflation and major collapse of
the financial monetary system-- best understood from
Lyndon Larouche's point of view-- so here's his
overview...
http://larouchepac.com/news/2007/12/26/larouche-radio-interview-stresses-global-financial-collapse.html
Cryonics itself is easily accomodated within a
Classical Humanist frame. That's the angle I'm banking
on and working on if and when I can afford the time.
God theory isn't actually as bad as some people make
it out to be-- so I'll be looking at that too. Natural
law and universal principles exist-- and human beings
access a "phase-space" of creative reason that no
anmial can... which makes humans distinctily unique
among living things-- on that count.
Prolongevity-- and extreme prolongevity--
a-mortality-- are all valid topics in Classical
FutureHumanism too... however the average lifespan of
people within a nation-state-- is critical to this. We
can't be expected to live hundreds of years while our
fellow citizen dies at 75. The program for longer life
has to be all inclusive-- as part of the General
Welfare. That's how you 'securitize' your own
lifespan-- make it common to live longer.
I've been pretty effectively shut out of all cryonics
related discussions-- but it's not hurting me-- it's
hurting cryonicists-- because what's happened here is
that the mindset of the typical cryonicist is trapped
in a type of Gordian Knot-- unable to unwrap itself--
its become a closed system-- I was it's last hope... I
was showing cryonicist the way out of the trap-- the
mental trap of self-interest-- which can only spiral
down into oblivion.
Making it to the future will entail opening the
connections of cryonics-- and prolongevity-- to issues
in the world at large-- and when and if that happens,
that's when you'll see a true cryonics community shape
itself into existence-- whereas right now, we have a
bunch of guys living in rabbit holes in their own
cults-of-selfhood... basically refusing to communicate
other than on approved topics-- which you see here on
Cryonet, or in the other forums.
There are a lot of reasons why cryonics may fail-- but
I would like to point the obvious top reason--
Civilization fails. If THAT happens, everything
INCLUDING cryonics fails. Think about that for a
minute. And consider getting interested in
civilization and the big picture again. Read Larouches
analysis...

Consider becoming a "macrocryonicist"-- instead of
being exclusivly a microcryonicist. Happy Larouche New
Year. Happy MacroCryonics New Year. May Humanity Live
Longer and be More Prosperous--- and may we be an
active part of Humanity. Together, we can Save the
World and Save Ourselves. -- Phil Ossifur
