optics spectacles. It was written in 2001 and suggests that products will appear
on the market in 3 to 4 years. "The technology has potential to revolutionise 
the $50 billion world-wide vision care industry, " it says. (ie do the same job 
for a tiny fraction of the cost, throwing large numbers of fee earning 
professionals out of work to face total retraining in something else.)

It is now 2007.

Where are they!!!


Maybe in the same place as personal flying machines, and other failed sci-fi 
ideas?
