X-Message-Number: 30224 From: "John de Rivaz" <> Subject: predicting the near future Date: Sun, 30 Dec 2007 10:11:21 -0000 http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2001/07/010730080847.htm is about adaptive optics spectacles. It was written in 2001 and suggests that products will appear on the market in 3 to 4 years. "The technology has potential to revolutionise the $50 billion world-wide vision care industry, " it says. (ie do the same job for a tiny fraction of the cost, throwing large numbers of fee earning professionals out of work to face total retraining in something else.) It is now 2007. Where are they!!! Maybe in the same place as personal flying machines, and other failed sci-fi ideas? -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more Content-Type: text/html; [ AUTOMATICALLY SKIPPING HTML ENCODING! ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=30224
