Average temperature was 24.0 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 94 days. This examines immune boosting supplements such as fucoidan, and thymulus. Destromethorphan was tested in run #2, but it has such interesting properties that here different doses are tested. Vasotame contains a casein peptide extract, plus alginic acid. Survival was quite poor in all bottles, and pathogens are suspected. Low dose fucoidan appeared to offer a minor benefit. Average temperature was 24.6 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 88 days. Large doses of vitamin K1 has *sometimes* improved survival in past runs. Here I test vitamin K2 or menaquinone. I also test if NAD or SAMe could reduce nicotiamide toxicity. Note that the NAD was unstabilized. Survival was very poor in all bottles, probably due to using an older breeding bottle. The highest dose of vitamin K2 did improve survival modestly. No evidence of toxicity for high dose nicotiamide could be seen in this test. However adding NAD did seem to increase survival slightly. Average temperature was 24.1 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 93 days. In this run, I retest heated fly food, and ribose, as both of these interventions appear likely to increase the glycotoxin content of fly food. Also tested is Taraxatone, which contains a herb mixture, including some taraxacum officinale leaf extract. Heated fly food once again exerted no detrimental effect on survival, while ribose actually slightly increased it. From these results it appears unlikely that glycotoxins are a negative factor in fly survival. Low dose Taraxatone appeared to be beneficial.
