X-Message-Number: 30314 From: "John de Rivaz" <> References: <> Subject: Re: HONEST AND OPEN DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2008 12:26:58 -0000 People giving positive investment advice take on a lot more professional responsibility than if they advise against. I am not saying that in this particular case that was a major element, but there is always that self-protection element of bias in any such professional report of this nature. They get the same fee advising for or against a particular course of action, but their risk is greater if they advise in favour. Even if they are salaried rather than fee earning, the risk of the sack for a wrong decision is ever present. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more >>> The attorneys and account[ant]s were advising them NOT to invest/donate any large sums of money to Alcor based on what they (rightfully), perceived as poor management results. <<< Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=30314
