Hi!

Here's my suggestion for a definition:

"Cryonics is the medical technology which freezes and stores patients after
their legal death in order to make possible their revival by a future and much
more advanced medical technology at some unknown future time."

I believe that no one will argue that cryonics does NOT make revival possible
given that other current techniques make it almost certainly IMpossible. On
the other hand, a possible revival is not guaranteed revival. Storage, of
course, is an essential part of the procedure. The one point on which I feel
unsure about this definition is that it no where suggests just how likely
that possibility may be ... but then Paul is right that we cannot give a
good figure for that anyway.

			Best and long long life,

				Thomas
