If it were anything worth reading, we would have nothing to say about
it. I doubt most cryonicists are gullible enough to take his ranting
seriously, but for anyone who gets this far, I just had to comment on
this recent round of hysteria about the economy and the financial
markets. This is one excerpt:

From: Phil Ossifur <>
Subject: ECONOMY-- Trillions of dollars will vaporize

"The fevered efforts to save the financial system,
typified by today's panicked three-quarter-point
interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve and the
Bush/Paulson stimulus plan not only will not work, but
will backfire spectacularly, and soon, economist
Lyndon LaRouche warned today. The financial system is
dead, and any attempt to save the fictitious values of
the trillions of dollars of worthless financial paper
will not only fail, but will destroy any nation
foolish enough to attempt to do so, LaRouche said."

Anyone who has been paying attention over the course of their lives,
knows that the economies of countries and in particular the USA, go
through periodic cycles of growth and recession every few years. Phil
blindly swallows the unsubstantiated claims by LaRouche that something
more serious is going on *this* time. There is absolutely no reason
to assume that anything is happening other than the probable beginning
of a period of recession. During such times, it is common for the Fed
to cut interest rates. Fears of any significant inflation are seldom
realized from this, though that is another frantic cry from the
doomsayers. The Fed's recent move is not based on panic, but on a
solid method based in economics to avoid a depression rather than just
a recession. We have come out of every recession now for decades,
with all of our paper money intact - despite another apocalyptic claim
that it will all "vaporize". Not so, unless he is referring to the
people who bought into markets at their top, and are seeing their
paper profits vanish. Many people sold out when they started seeing
all the red, and will have the opportunity to buy back in when the
green starts showing again at the bottom of the valley. This is
nothing new, happens during every cycle; some people lose their shirts
but civilization goes on ever stronger.

I submit that LaRouche is full of what is in the douche, and will be
proven a false prophet and charlatan within a few months, when the
cycle turns back up again. Phil will similarly be so proven. Will
Phil admit he and LaRouche were wrong then? Not likely. He will
merely accuse anyone who points it out, of being a reductionist, and
will claim that the USA will indeed eventually be destroyed
economically - he didn't mean it had to be this year. How do we know
this is how Phil will behave? We've seen it happen several times
before.

A note to the curious: Phil can rant and rave in the bottom of the
CryoNet queue and archives as long as he likes, and we don't care, as
long as he doesn't draw the public's attention to this obscure area of
internet publishing. That would not be the right thing to do for
positively presenting cryonics to the public, and as long as he
refrains from such activity, we also will do what he believes is right
and not post our material next to his where the general public would
learn all about "Phil" and why they should ignore him.
