Date: Thu, 7 Feb 2008 13:05:47 -0000 Dispersion, rather than concentration, of cryonicists is probably the best way to ensure that the movement as a whole endures through political problems. The other problem is of course the possibility of people quite legally taking over cryonics service providers and then corrupting their aim and purpose. Nothing to do with cryonics, but this site shows how this can happen to a registered British charity. There is actually a faint similarity as this charity was founded to help people with "learning difficulties" in environments as near to normal as possible throughout their lives. Although the period of care can be as much as 80 years, a lot shorter than a person may need to be cared for in cryopreservation, the care period is still a long time in a civilisation where the rate of change is accelerating. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/care-village.html Click on "signatures" to see other petitioners' comments. If anyone is interested, it is worth reading the articles on "camberwell crime" http://camberwell-crime.blogspot.com/ as well. You have to scroll down to the "care" comment. I feel that these articles show how people behave when large sums of money become involved, as could even happen with the cryonics organisations. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more Message #30430 From: David Stodolsky <> Subject: Re: Off Topic: hydrocarbons are not fossil fuels, they are re...
