For the first, they have to agree that there is a problem, before  
making any effort at all. It appears that some don't see that there is  
a problem, that can't be resolved with the present structure.

Online forums are not particularly good for 'hot' discussions, because  
the risk of miscommunication is high.

People often use cover names, resulting sometime in irresponsible  
behavior. How can you tell if 12 'votes' for change are not actually  
coming from one person?

Public forums may generate negative press to the detriment of Alcor  
and the movement. These are typically archived in Google's cache  
forever, so it is hard to recover from 'mistakes'.
