X-Message-Number: 3051 From: Date: Sun, 04 Sep 94 11:31:25 EDT Subject: SCI. CRYONICS Fahy's work A couple of questions for Mike Darwin about Greg Fahy's work. (I could ask Greg directly, of course, but I have the impression that taking time to respond might be less burdensome for Mike than for Greg.) Mike says Greg cooled rabbit kidneys to - 30C with vitrifiable (high?) concentrations of agent (glycerol ?) and got long term function in situ after rewarming and flushing. How long were they at this temperature? Is there a known time limit for storage at this temperature? Were attempts made at lower temperatures? Is enough non-proprietary information available to allow Europeans to do the work the FDA will not allow here? Robert Ettinger Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=3051
