Subject: ALCOR DEMOCRACY-- Bylaw provides Electorate!

Here's the document that CPlatt found in relation to
Dave Pizer's initiation of the discussion about
democracy at Alcor-- that contains the reference to a
Director Electorate--

http://www.alcor.org/Library/pdfs/AlcorExemptionApplication.pdf

I'll be looking at this document in detail, trying to
understand the legalese, over the next month. It's
been commented upon by CPlatt and others-- in Cold
Filter and Dave's ReformAlcor.org site. I'm trying to
track this line of work in my alphabetical blog
here--->

http://alcordemocracy.blogspot.com/

The general overall view is that Alcor was instituted
with a Director Electorate-- but the activation of
that process was put on hold because it was not
practical to begin with- due to so few people invovled
in cryonics. The idea was tested in 1985 and in 1997--
the full accounting of which is still murky. Now, in
2008, it's being tested again. This time, we hope to
document the situation more completely.

Important point-- There is no need to invent a new
democratic process-- at least not at this time. What
IS required is to understand the original intention of
the Director Electorate process. Alcor's Board of
Advisors MIGHT be a sort of neutered Director
Electorate. At least, this is my understanding-- I'm
just a member of Alcor-- who is in the dark like the
rest of the membership/customers.
