Thanks for the Kudos, Greg!

I'm just getting to this because my laptop
hard drive died while I was in Nederland (the
cold, the jolts, and the altitude, together
with the fact that I was pounding the hard
drive -- running Tiger, which takes 512MB,
together with multiple apps, on a system with
only 512MB of memory meant I was swapping
virtual memory to disk all the time -- was
asking for it), so I had to buy a new one and
reload it -- I'm glad I backed up just before
I left, and managed to put new files on a USB
drive while it was on its deathbed. (Sorry if
that didn't parse.) I think it's all better
now -- phew! (Coda: I also put in an
additional 256MB of memory, which I hope will
help avoid this happening again.)

I had lunch with Teresa (festival coordinator)
on Monday; she says there was record attendance
-- over 10,000 people (an embarrassment ofriches; there were awful
traffic jams in this
town of about 1500 that doesn't even have a
traffic light).

The theater was full for many showings of
"Grandpa's Still in the Tuff Shed", and less
empty than in previous years for the "Real
Cryonics" videos. I didn't have enough hands
for giving out surveys or enough attention to
give to everyone leaving to ask them to fill
one out. Teresa says there are lots more
people going through the main tent, so I'd
have lots more opportunities to talk to people
and give them surveys, but I think I need to
be by the theater where people have just seen
or are about to see the videos; it shows they
have interest. I may be able to devise a
static display that will get people to come to
"Real Cryonics"; worth thinking about.

Teresa is very supportive of my efforts. This
year she started the sustainability angle, and
sees Grandpa and cryonics as being right in
line with those. Certainly cryonics is the
ultimate in sustaining -- sustaining life.

Pam, the owner of the hotel where I stay and
where the movies are shown, also seems quite
positive. She asks me a lot of questions, and
even answers some for people who come in.
Quite gratifying.

I'm not feeling well -- the combination of
stress, a lingering cold, below-freezing weather
with extra-low humidity (chapped lips etc.), and
high altitude have caused my MS symptoms to
flare up. I hurt and am stiff and have a
hard time concentrating and haven't even
unpacked yet. It may be a while before I get
to the surveys; please be patient. Thanks!

Live long and prosper,
Kennita
