X-Message-Number: 30778 Subject: For a better list From: "Fred C. Moulton" <> References: <> Date: Tue, 27 May 2008 20:13:39 -0700 It might be useful if messages sent to Cryonet had some relevance to cryonics so that Cryonet does not turn into a general discussion list. If persons really feel the need to post non-cryonics related comments to Cryonet then can I suggest that they please have a basic understanding about the topic of their post. A specific example of a clue deficient post occurred recently when someone referred to libertarianism as "a system of thought based based upon selfishness as the only human motive". Anyone familiar with libertarian thought would realize that this characterization about libertarianism and selfishness is false. The webpage on the sciencemag.com site mentioned in that post is actually interesting but is not directly related to cryonics. It is indirectly related since it discusses decisions an individual makes when that individual perceives a moral charged tradeoff in dividing scarce resources. In the case of the study it is food for orphans; it is indirectly related to cryonics because resources in the realm of cryonics are limited and we can expect that allocation decisions will need to be made.
