Torturing animals offends me personally, and also tends to offend a  lot of 
potential cryonicists. Incidentally, some animal activists can get pretty  
active.
 
If it were crystal clear that suffering for a few animals would save the  
lives of a lot of humans, or even other animals, a dubious argument could  be 

made, but this is not the case. Any  experiments with animals should be  done 
the 
way CI's work with rats was done--anaesthesia followed by death, with  no 

suffering. Evaluation of results would be only slightly impaired, since  tissue
samples would be available, as well as observations before death while  the 
animals are under anaesthesia.
