Is the world determinist or not? There is my salt grain to the debate:
Classical mechanics is determinist and quantum one is not. The Q.M.
Schrodinger equation is the Jacobi form of classical physics with an added
componement: A fundamental unit of action h ( in physics, action is the
product energy X time.)called the Planck's constant. In International
system units h is near 10 power minus 34.

For a system undergoing the effect of a force F, there is two force
componements: One, classical Fc acting on the basic space where the object
stays and another, quantum-like, Fq, acting in a function space built on
the preceeding one. As seen from the basic space, Fc results are
deterministic and Fq ones are are probabilistics in nature. In a given
situation, if mass x squarred dimension / time is smaller than h, then Fq
dominates, in the other case Fc takes over.

For example a quartz crystal in an electronic device is Fc dominated, on
the contrary, a salt grain, some microns in diameter undergoing a plastic
deformation in some months is a quantum dominated object.

Even in the so-called quantum domain, Fc never cancel, so there is always a
deterministic componement in every situation. On the other hand, even if Fc
dominates Fq, Fq does not cancel anymore and there is a probabilistic side
in each thing.

All of that holds for a basic space (finite dimensional, real, euclidean
space) observer. I do not know about, but the situation may get reversed
for a function space observer.

I can send some photocopies of physics and mathematics books dealing with
that subject to interested readers, unfortunately they are written in
french (but mathematics are universal !).

Now, the exchange basis for opinions is as follow: Does quantum mechanics
is a physical reality ? The answer is yes. Is it build on a fundamental
probabilistic world? The answer is yes. Then Bob Ettinger is wrong? the
answer is no! The Lord plays all games, some with dices, some without.
