Mike Perry is the trusted patient caretaker at Alcor, long time cryonicist, a member of the Board of Directors of Venturism and one of the co-founders of The Society for Venturism. Mike has had some really good ideas in his many years as a cryonics person. One of those ideas for the Society for Venturism was for the society to provide those members who want one with a membership card that has a religious objection to autopsy on it. WHAT IS SO GOOD ABOUT THIS? Although both CI and Alcor used to offer some similar autopsy objection membership cards, it has ofter been felt by cryonicist legal experts that only a "religious" objection to autopsy would carry any weight in an emergency situation with government officials. So Mike created the card for our members and you can get one. Mike even puts your picture on the card and it looks pretty official, because it is our official card. The reason a religious objection to autopsy from a Venturist member may be more compelling is that the Society for Venturism, although approved under the heading of being a scientific and educational organization, is also approved under U.S. 501c3 protection for religious purposes. So when a Venturist members says his or religion prohibits autopsy for religious reasons, it is the truth! Some people are now sending in donations to help in our latest effort to raise money to help get a suspension paid for for William O'Rights. When you mail in your contribution, let us know if you want a membership card with your "religious" objection to autopsy. Thanks to Dr. R. Michael Perry for this wonderful idea and thanks to all of you who are supporting the efforts to save a long time cryonics advocate, William O'Rights.
