However there may be a simpler explanation. These genetic events may be necessary in some way to maintain a complex creature against cancer and mutagenic infectious viruses and bacteria. Obviously we all wish this research well, and hope that it produces speedy progress. But if the "simpler explanation" is right, it may not be so easy. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more ----- Original Message ----- From: CryoNet To: Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2008 10:00 AM Subject: CryoNet #30893 - #30894 <del> Specific genetic instructions drive aging in worms, report researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Their discovery contradicts the prevailing theory that aging is a buildup of tissue damage akin to rust, and implies science might eventually halt or even reverse the ravages of age. <del> Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=30896
