This may or may not be a repeat, but I mailed a check for $1,000 to the Venturists for Wm. O'Rights on July 21. I also noticed on Cold Filter a recent post by O'Rights saying his prognosis now is only two or three months. Robert Ettinger In a message dated 8/2/2008 9:47:31 P.M. Yes, you are right. Apparently at ImmInst where Mr. O'Rights has been posting the focus now is on beating the cancer rather than the expensive path of arranging for cryopreservation. (To me a form of denial, granted that he should be fighting the cancer too.) You can work to try to organize this sort of thing. Maybe post at the thread: _http://www.imminst.http://wwwhttp://wwwhttp://wwwhttp:&hl=_ (http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=23100&hl=) That would be a start. Another "start" badly needed in my view would be a contingency plan if he goes down soon and enough money for the preservation he is seeking (about $30,000, for whole body preservation with the Cryonics Institute) has not been raised. Mr. O'Rights himself is amenable to anything that is a form of cryopreservation but at this point apparently not anything else (chemo for instance). If he did deanimate with only a small fraction of the necessary funds in place, a possibility would be neuro (head only) straight freeze, storage on dry ice until permanent arrangemenets were possible, maybe with KrioRus. I think this would be about $14,000 starting from the U.S. MikeP > > I also think it is wonderful that you are willing to make this much of a > donation, and willing to do it so openly.
