Subject: Your Invitation to a Holiday Party!
Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2008 16:27:31 -0700

Hi Everyone!
You are invited to THE HOLIDAY PARTY OF THE YEAR. We have combined the
annual CryoFeast for area cryonicists with other communities in Southern

California, such as life extentionists, futurists and singularitarians. Yes,
gaining
access to this party is by invitation only. You have received yours because

you are among the most brilliant, exciting, visionary, imaginative, farsighted,
futuristic people we know! How do we know this? Well, for starters, you
subscribe to Cryonet :-)

This is a very special invitation to hobnob with other interesting people as
we kick off the 2008 holiday season. Also, you're welcome to invite friends
- as long as they possess at least two or more of the above characteristics
:-) Please join us on Saturday, November 22nd, beginning at 4 PM. We ask
that each person bring a DISH and whatever YOU like to drink.

Wow...some good news for a refreshing change. Kat and David, I have no
doubt that your party will be a genuinely fun event, chock full of creative,
visionary, imaginary, futuristic people.

While I won't make it due to the intervening logistics of about 4000

kilometers, I thank you for putting this on, making something good happen in
the
cryonics, life extension, and singulatarian communities.

Dawn, my wonderful wife of almost 25 years, and I are preparing for our
annual Halloween party. We have the front yard decorated with some 40 large

"airblown" Holloween icons, and the inside of our modest but interesting house
decorated to the gills with cool Holoween pumpkins, ghouls, witches, and
assorted creepy-crawlies.

Our party is on Friday, October 24. Cryoneters and fun loving hangers
onners and lurkers can email me for details.

I also liked Robert's posting abaout the structure of society being both

vital to our future as cryonicists and individuals, as well as being "on topic"
for cryonet.

Part of that structure is to try and figure out ways that "life on the
planet is fun."

I don't have to tell this highly educated and realistic group of readers the
many ways we know life can be less than fun. There is no big daddy in the
sky who cares about you and wants the best for you and wants you to go to
heaven for endless bliss when you die. Let's get over it and get on with it.

But we, as clever humans, can figure out what generates enjoyment for

ourselves and others and engage in activities that benefit ourselves and
others.

The social aspect of cryonics and like minded fellow travelers is, IMO, a
HIGHLY important...indeed vital component of making this thing work for
everyone. Congratulations, dear Kat and David, on your party, and for the

tremendous contributions you both have consistently made to help develop a
genuine
and caring and fun community of independent thinkers.

Party on, dudes!

Rudi
