Subject: CryoNet #31141 - #31142 and the topic of money

Since I don't agree with the "Free Ted" petition, I didn't add my name
to the 13 (thirteen) who had signed it when I visited the site this
morning. (Hey, only 24,987 still to go!)

But I wonder if anyone who has signed can confirm my suspicion that if
you follow the steps through to the end, you may be asked for some
kind of a . . . donation. As I recall, the freeted web site asked for
money during the brief period before it was shut down for violating
the terms of service of the company that hosted it. I always felt that
its appeal for cash conflicted, a bit, with its pious handwringing.

As for Rep. Stump withdrawing his bill in response to death threats,
that's an interesting story, but it fails to mention the political
factors which contributed to the demise of Stump's bill. I suppose
it's easier to blame everything on those lunatic head-freezers.

Speaking of heads, why does the petition only request surrender of the
body of Ted Williams? Is that the only part that the baseball fans are
concerned about?
