Subject: Who or what is "the Cryonics Society"?
Date: Sun, 30 Nov 2008 23:49:14 -0500 (EST)

I just got an immense, badly formatted email "newsletter" claiming
to be from "the Cryonics Society" (with no adjectives), sent to
a long-expired disposable address of mine. I've never posted
from that address, so the address must have been harvested from
http://KeithLynch.net/email.html, and then, despite what I said on
that page, added to an address list rather than that page being
bookmarked to check the latest disposable address just before sending.

Needless to say, I never signed up for any such newsletter.

It's too badly formatted for me to waste my time reading, but it does
seem to be asking for money.

The domains it comes from and the websites it mentions are owned by
"Constant Contact Inc." in Massachusetts and "Marketing Associates,
Ltd." in the Bahamas.

Is this a spammer? It sure doesn't look or smell like a legitimate
or a competent organization.

I've long had "cryonics" on the subject line whitelisted. It looks
like I'll have to change that.
