Subject: The Cryonics Community Needs Infrastructre

I live near Rochester, NY, and, to my knowledge, I am one of only two
people in Western New York who have signed up for croypreservation.

Western New York (Buffalo-Rochester area) is not a hotbed for cryonics.

I posted a listing on craigslist.org in an attempt to attract interest in
a cryonics interest group.

There have been no takers after two weeks of posting.

There are more cryonicists located near CI and Alcor, and that should
make for good communication and support amongst those indiviuuals.

However, for those who are in more areas where cryonicists are few,
as I have found out, it's a little tougher to build support.

What is needed, in my opinion, is a broader support network of cryoncists,
preferably, by e-mail and the web.

Chat rooms such as cold filter are fine, except for occureneces
of flaming by one party or another.

Exchagnes of opinions are fine, but they do not need to be lowered
to the level of personal attacks or, to clean up the language a bit,
whizzing contests.

Most of society still looks at us as a bit odd, to say the least, even
after 40-plus years of progress, as slow as it may have been.

It would help us all if we could get together and exchange e-mails
of support and information exchange.

Any suggestions for building a support group are welcome.

Thanks.
