Subject: What exactly is Oregon Cryonics "doing" or "providing" or not...
I'm watching a discussion in Cold Filter where JSparks of Oregon Cryonics is
denying that he ever offered cryonics services and Maxim is pointing out that he
had planned to.
http://www.network54.com/Forum/291677/thread/1236784665/Alcor+meets+spy+thriller.
I looked up Oregon Cryonics.
http://www.oregoncryo.com/
Lo and behold, they feature this "equipment page", surprisingly well equipped
are they!
http://www.oregoncryo.com/equipment.htm
The homepage site reads "Oregon Cryonics does not currently provide any cryonics
services. We are an educational organization. Our goal is to get local people
interested in cryonics and to provide local resources for anyone in Oregon. We
have a variety of equipment, and we hold regular training sessions."
My comment-- Let's read that again. "We are an educational organization" and...
"we...provide resources" for "anyone in Oregon" and "we have... equipment"...
Seems to me that "providing resources" and "having equipment" to the extent they
do goes WELL beyond "education".
Resources could include "human resources" too, and recall that Mondragona and
deWolfs are "in the neighbouthood" and would constitute elements of "anyone in
Oregon".
Sparks is treading a very very fine line here. The entity "Oregon Cryonics"
itself may not "provide cryonics services" but somehow, it seems to me that as a
result of Oregon Cryonics' "educational function", there may indeed be such
cryonics services in Oregon.
