Maybe because the countries are old and jaded.
The US is all about optimism (at least in
theory), which would make for a much more
cryonics-friendly environment.  We also seem
to be into innovation and mold-breaking; not
that no one overseas does it, but it's a
national pastime here.

If you lose your optimism, enthusiasm, and
sense of wonder along with your religious
fervor, it doesn't help.  Something about
babies and bathwater....

Just sayin'.  It can't all necessarily be
chalked up to secularism; there are confounding
factors.
