I will be attending the Singularity Summit Oct. 3 and 4 in New York. I am excited about this, as the program and speakers are among the more brilliant futurists on the planet. You can google Singularity Summit for the details on this way cool event. Because my wife Dawn and I had a longstanding and previous social committment, and because the cost of the airfare, conference registration, and hotel total a nontrivial amount, there was much angst and handwringing about whether to go or not in the Hoffman household. It was not a particularly pretty interaction, but we eventually worked it out. Anyway, I am going, although my wife Dawn will not be attending. I am staying at the Marriott Courtyard Manhattan hotel, which is pretty much the "event" hotel, altho the actual conference is some miles away, I believe. I have the conference rate of 200 bucks plus tax rate per night, which is better than the normal rate of about 400 bucks a night...and I will be by myself if I can't find a roomie. It would also be cool to have buds to share taxi rides with, and/or figure out the metro transportation system with. So, if you think this may be a match, please email directly so as reduce Cryonet bandwidth clutter, at BTW, one of the most enjoyable conferences I EVER attended was the first Alcor conference. Since nobody had any money, we had four folks in my room...and we had an absolute blast. The relationships developed have lasted better than 14 years now...rooming together is fun. My wife would probably prefer my roommate(s) be male, but this, along with other things, is probably negotiable. :) Best, Rudi -- Rudi Richard Hoffman CFP CLU ChFC World's Leading Cryonics Insuror rudihoffman.com Former Board Member Financial Planning Association fpafla.com Board Member Salvation Army salvationarmy.org Member Alcor Life Extension Foundation alcor.org, Member Cryonics Institute cryonics.org Certified Financial Planner(TM) CFP Board of Standards Member World Transhumanist Association http://transhumanism.org/ --00151773e21aa695690472c13928 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 [ AUTOMATICALLY SKIPPING HTML ENCODING! ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=31931
