X-Message-Number: 31990 From: "John de Rivaz" <> References: <> Subject: Re: CAS Date: Tue, 22 Sep 2009 12:21:42 +0100 I can recall a message either here or on another list where a physicist said he thought CAS was impossible. CAS is said to be achieved by applying an alternating magnetic field to a specimen being frozen, and the effect can be demonstrated using a container of water which freezes without expansion to a glassy state. No one has been able to find out hard details, even from the patent. If it does work and someone can do a simple experiment to reproduce the effect in a freezer by passing an appropriate (what value?) alternating current at the appropriate frequency (what value?) around a coil (how many turns?) surrounding a plastic drinks bottle of water then we can all believe it. If this cannot be done, then I suggest healthy scepticism. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the purpose of patent disclosure was so that other scientists could verify that the patent actually works. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more ----- Original Message ----- From: CryoNet To: Sent: Tuesday, September 22, 2009 10:00 AM Subject: CryoNet #31988 - #31989 From: John Clark <> I've been hearing a lot on Cryonet about this CAS freezer stuff, and it would certainty be wonderful if true, but can anybody find an indication that one word of what they are typing onto websites is true? I can't. I know how to type too, but that doesn't mean everything I type is true.
