Subject: CRYONICS more Taylor

Responding to Ian Taylor's additional questions:

"Under favorable circumstances" means mainly washout, cooling, and perfusion
with little delay. Then, using Cryonics Institute procedures, apparently
changes with respect to unfrozen controls are not large, with structure
generally well preserved and no cracking at any level. Light microscope and
electron microscope were used.

The best way to get your answers in more detail is to read the report of Dr.
Pichugin and Dr. Zhegunov in the next issue of THE IMMORTALIST, which will
include selected photos. (Full set available.) If Mr. Taylor (or anyone else)
wants to provide a mailing address, we will send a complimentary copy when
the issue is ready, in roughly two weeks.

On other questions: Only one cryonics organization has ever failed and lost
patients, quite a few years back, and that one bore no resemblance to the
present ones. There have been several suspensions since 1992, and the trend
is clearly upward. CI currently has about 130 members. Funeral director
Barry Albin is at Arthur Stanley House, 52 Culling Road, London SE16 2TN,
phone 071-237-2600. Alcor UK is at 18 Potts Marsh Estate, Westham, East
Sussex, phone 0323-460257.
