Subject: Yudkowsky's statistics

Eliezer Yudkowsly has an article on lesswrong.com
about statistics--"frequentist," "subjective," and
Bayesian. While I largely agree with him, I think
that in Youniverse I have offered a clearer explanation
of the differences and a way in which ALL probabilities
can be seen as objective and frequentist, while avoiding
the persistent blunders of the usual approaches.

More generally, lesswong tries to promote rationalist
thinking, including cryonics. Well, rationalism isn't
necessarily rational in a certain sense, since the
rational thing to do is to try to optimize your future
life, and for some people delusion holds the most
promise. But some of us value integrity above
comfort.
