The foam retains some liquid nitrogen in it, as a sponge, that add to the cryo capability. The system I have used was a loan from a gas seller, I have not broken it for looking at the details. It seems the exact model is no more in production, yet Cryo Diffusion has a very similar device on sale. There is a drawing: http://www.cryodiffusion.com/Produits.php?Categorie=Bio&Produit=BS2000 Sorry it is in french. This peculiar device work only as a liquid nitrogen sponge it seems.
