X-Message-Number: 32312 From: Mathew Sullivan <> Date: Fri, 15 Jan 2010 00:01:27 -0500 Subject: Re: CryoNet # 32286 --001636e1fdb08fd3c5047d2ce670 Another apologetic late response due to busy times- Mathew Sullivan: Native American culture came through from my observation and others who watched the movie. David Stodolsky: This group has not succeeded in driving out the invaders. Mathew's response: Correct. Smallpox and other diseases for which they had no immunity, wiped many of those who resided here off the face of the map. This reminds me of a Simpons episode called the "Time Travel Nightmare” where Homer sneezes on a dinosaur (< http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7miw4_the-simpsons-time-travel-nightmare_shortfilms>); although, to the disappointment of some caucasians today, those who are native to the Americas are making some resurgence here in North America. On the other hand, Avatar is just a movie, which is intended to entertain the masses, and many of which have some form of religious or spiritual belief, aside from any transhumanist perspective. Personally, I did not look too deeply into those aspects of the movie and enjoyed the entertainment for what it had to offer. Anyway, I plan to see it a second time at IMAX for the benefit of my mother.
