X-Message-Number: 32478 Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2010 13:54:23 +0000 (UTC) From: Melody Maxim <> Subject: Censorship Allowed by Cryonet Rating System As Kitty Antonik Wakfer and David Stodolsky, (and, perhaps, others), have recently pointed out, the Cryonet rating system is not serving the purpose it was designed for. It seems to be mostly used by a few small minds, with the intention of quashing the messages of certain people, (people who don't agree with the raters' viewpoints, I presume). These people apparently don't realize that rating a message as "flamebait," even when the message is reasonable, makes THEM (the people attempting to censor, via negative ratings) look bad. Of course, they don't have to be concerned with appearances, since, as Kitty points out, they are allowed to remain anonymous. Any rational, mature adult would realize these childish behaviors only lend to the critic's credibility, while detracting from the integrity of this forum. I have taken the time to give positive ratings to posts made by Luke Parrish, (who made the "mistakes" of making a negative comment about neuros and mentioning my name). I have also sent a message to Keven Brown, as Kitty suggested. My thanks to people like Kitty and David, for their attempts to prevent unfair censorship, on Cryonet.
