But how many people would turn away from cryonics if it involved a loss of income of L500/month? They'd still have to put up nearly 70k each to join. That sort of commitment would certainly enhance the idea that cryonics is only for the rich. Also if the income earner of a household decides to commit part of his income and capital this way the other members may object. The solution to this is to organize a fund, which would make the payments tax deductible. Then the effective 'loss' of income would only be about 1/2 of the gross contribution. With a large enough group in a local area, a range of services could be provided - as is done by most churches - schools for children, counseling, maybe free high-quality food, vitamins, anti-ageing drugs (it saves the Fund money, if people remain alive), etc. Housing for the frail elderly could also be provided at very low cost. The cumulative value of these types of services could make membership economically neutral. There should be some State compensation for organizations providing these services. If the same property tax arrangement could be obtained as that given to churches, that expense could also be reduced. dss David Stodolsky Skype: davidstodolsky --Apple-Mail-6-448430729 Content-Type: text/html; [ AUTOMATICALLY SKIPPING HTML ENCODING! ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=32579
