The Party Leadership has been very interested in finding something that could
block the resurgence of religion in China. They have been getting a lot of
criticism in the West for their repression of Falun Gong.

A few years ago, the Government sponsored a Humanist Congress, which included
invited Humanist leaders from the USA. However, the one person I have
communicated with found the reception very discouraging.

Most recently, the Government seems to have relaxed their opposition to
Christianity, etc., even extending support to 'recognized' groups and apparently
no longer clamping down on the unrecognized ones. So, it appears that the
situation is very fluid at the moment. Potentially, this could mean an opening
for cryonics. Administration of the Badger Survey in China would be a first
step.
