The difference between a shotgun-killed bird and a cryonic patient, is that the latter is more preserved. When you shoot the poor bird, it will scatter over a large area and start to decompose quite quickly. On the other hand, after the cryonic patient is frozen there is practically no extra damage, and we have all parts. They are just damaged. Putting them together is of course non-trivial, but we can take our time since there are no changes and we have centuries to perfect our technology. I would recomend "Molecular Repair of the Brain" by Ralph C. Merkle for a detailed discussion of the feasibility of this (the text is at URL ftp://parcftp.xerox.com/pub/merkle/techFeas.html ). -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Anders Sandberg Towards Ascension! http://www.nada.kth.se/~nv91-asa/main.html GCS/M/S/O d++ -p+ c++++ !l u+ e++ m++ s+/+ n--- h+/* f+ g+ w++ t+ r+ !y Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=3299
