I would not be quite so pessimistic as Joe. So far, no serious witchhunt 
against cryonicists has begun. But even with indifference on the part of
those who aren't cryonicists, it will take us much longer to do it all
ourselves than it would if "society" were solidly behind this goal.

And finally, as someone who actually owns property overseas, I don't see
the problem of leaving as quite so hard. Especially if you don't insist
on one particular country (such as Switzerland). If the American public
actually starts OPPOSING us, then it would be time for us all to think
seriously of moving. Immigrants visas, or even citizenship, in another
country would be the first things to try for. (It's usually possible to
be an American citizen and also citizen of some other country --- some
interesting court cases established that).
