Subject: CEO at Alcor? No such job, IIRC

Alcor's website says:

http://alcor.org/AboutAlcor/meetalcorstaff.html

This has been brought up from time to time, usually from one person running
Alcor to the next. Alcor's bylaws provide for a President, unless its board
secretly changed them while we were not looking. They also provide for that
person to ALSO fill an "Executive Director" seat, which seemed to be the
favorite for Jennifer, Joe and maybe other recent Alcor Presidents I may
have forgotten about. That, though, does not mean they are not still the
President, as the bylaws do require Alcor to have a President.

Alas, no one seems to want to do the job. President. Why?

So I have to wonder why the latest one, with the paleotranshumanist name,
also shuns using his real title, instead of "Chief ExecutIve Officer"? You
can be sure he uses "President" to sign official documents, as other
paleoPresidents have been caught at doing.

My guess is that it has something to do with Alcor's secretive board wanting
to continue to have their fingers as deeply as possible into whomever is
running the company, and that their willingness to say "Mr President!" would
diminish that control in some regard. But I am willing to hear from them on
that and why they do not think Alcor members deserve the right to vote for
them.

Or perhaps Dr More would be kind enough to tell us why he uses a fictitious
title instead of the real one? Is "More" even his real name? He could also
explain that anomaly while he is talking with us.

Cheers,

FD
