Subject: CRYONICS

I have been a member of the American Cryonics Society for many years.
Living in Virginia, it is a bit difficult to follow what is going there,
especially with the constant squabbling and legal maneuvers. However,
recently I have found things more confusing than usual, and I wonder
whether anybody would volunteer to shed some light for me on what is going
on.

It started a couple of weeks ago when I received a bill for two years dues,
even though I have paid every year. I fired off an inquiry to ACS by email,
and never received an answer. Next week I am scheduled to undergo an operation,
and even though it is minor, I wanted to find whether my safety net is in
place. I tried to call the number on my Medic Alert band and found that
it is Trans Time's number. Supposedly, ACS and Trans Time do not do business
any more. I called ACS, but they were out for the holiday.

I will appreciate any information that anybody can provide.

On a related matter, I am moving to Florida, and I wonder if there are
any reputable Cryonics organizations there.

A couple of weeks ago I asked this forum for advice on how to locate a
Cryonics-friendly personal physician in my new hometown. Nobody answered.

I expect that most people tune to this list for discussing scientific and
philosophical issues relative to Cryonics. However, I hope that you will
take the time to answer my more mundane questions.
