By freezing one's young cells now one can later rejuvenate when one
is older.
By freezing young cells from an organism we can later rejuvenate
the same organism once it gets older.
We already know how to conceive in a petri dish.
And how to split young embryos into identical clones.
And how to reimplant the clones in host mothers and carry the
clones to term.
And we also know how to terminate pregnancies at an early stage,
and harvest the various specialized cells,
and how to grow cell cultures,
and successfully freeze such with high viability,
and how to thaw out the samples, and continue growing the cells.
And we know how to take cell samples, modify these and reimplant
them in the organism we took the samples from.
What if we started routinely combining all these routines?
What if we started cloning embryoes, bringing some clones to term,
and aborting one or more at the 3 to 4 week stage, harvesting all
the cells from the aborted clones, cultivating these by kind, and
freezing separate samples of each specialized cell kind.
Fifty to sixty years later, when the adult individual is starting
to show signs of aging we could then thaw out and cultivate
specific cell samples and implant these in the relevant tissues.
The liver, the kidneys and each vital tissue could be reseeded
with biologically young cells of its own kind.
While the older organism's cells will have gone through many cell
divisions over the years, the frozen cells will be as young as they
were when they were first frozen.
If we have created lots of original samples, or each time we thaw
out a sample, cultivate and refreeze some more, then we could
repeat the rejuvenating implant whenever needed.
Over a life time, cells are damaged by accidents, distress, wear
and tear, radiation, and infectious and degenerative diseases.
If we routinely sample, cultivate and freeze our own cells while
we are the healthiest we can later as routinely reseed our tissues
with young and vibrant cells.
And what easier way to sample all tissues than by cloning?
We can do this with existing technology.
No adult animal has to be frozen, only individual cells, and it is
the beneficiary itself who originally at the embryo stage, donated
the source of the cells that it is getting back.
Our generation would not immediately benefit from this, but future
generations could, and what parents would not give their offspring
the gift of longevity?
As to the rest of us, we still need to find a way to sample adult
specialized cells, and unspecialize these, return them or their DNA
to the embryo stage so to speak, so that clones can be grown. And
then we too could benefit from the above routines.
And maybe here too we can learn from nature by systematically study
those plants and animals that have the strongest ability to
regenerate limbs or to spin off clones?
What cells are the new limbs or clones generated from?
What cells stay unspecialized or change specialization?
And what genes are involved?
What adult cells can we clone in plants and animals?
And what of our own cells are the closest to these cells?
And how can we change our genetic makeup so that our cells will
become cloneable?
>From what other tissue were our various adult tissues generated?
And what tissue still existing in adults, was originally a source
for other more specialized tissues, and itself not created from any
other still existing tissue?
What of our own cells are the closest to being unspecialized and
would take the least genetic modification to become identical to
our original embryo cell?
Are the spermatagonien, the precursor cells to our sperm and egg
cells, the least specialized cells in our body?
Or is our supportive tissues the least specialized?
When it comes to the cloning of adult cells, we don't have to
change either the genimprinting or the genetic makeup of all our
cells, all it takes is to change one or a few sample cells so that
one cell can be cloned.
By cloning new embryoes and bringing some clones to terms and
freezing others, we can later compare specialized and unspecialized
cells and younger and older cells from identical twins of different
biological age, or da facto for the same individual, and thus study
the cells progression from unspecialized to specialized and from
young to old, so to better learn what exact changes have taken
place and how these can be reversed.
Thus our generation too could benefit from cloning and
cryogenically preserving cell cultures of the next generation.
Once we master cloning based on DNA taken from adult cells, then
we too can create and harvest cloned tissue for our own
rejuvenation.
And to the extent the abortion of clones is morally objectionable
to some, one could still learn a lot by perfecting the routines on
animals.
Once we master this to change the genimprinting of specialized
cells we could possibly create sample cells for each specialized
cell kind, from one adult cell, and without going by way of
creating and aborting an embryo.
A more cumbersome way is for adult beings to have all their
specialized tissues sampled, at the youngest possible stage, and
have each sample cultivated and frozen, for future implants.
And search for ways to rejuvenate older cells before these are
cultivated, frozen and implanted.
But that too would be a viable alternative for those of us who
already are born.
