Hi, I've read with interest some of the recent mails to
this newsgroup and would like to ask if the point of 'mapping'
someones brain (neurons, synapses, etc) is to create a new brain
or to help repair damage to an existing one should that occur.

I would also like to ask if and when a person would become aware
that there brain -or bits of it, was being repaired. For instance if
artificial (say nano-technology) bits of 'brain' where substituted for
real brain at what percentage replacement does the person say
"Hey thats not real brain!" - or are they just aware of losing
memory, held in those sections of brain that where replaced, stored
there since the copy was taken.

Thanks, Nick.
there since the time the 'copy' was taken.

Thanks, Nick.
