I can offer a strategy that I have found useful in talking to her and other people as well. I present cryonics as the equivalent of religion (since I am an atheist, this is not much of a problem). I tell people that one important part of religion is permitting us to face our mortality with some hope of an afterlife. Cryonics does the same thing, and for somebody like me, who is an engineer, it is more appealing than the idea that I have an immortal soul. I point out to people that even if I do have an immortal soul, cryonics does not kill it, and so I get a double chance instead of a single one. However, the main thing is that cryonics is something that makes me face death more easily. I think that people can accept cryonics as a sort of religion more easily, because they know that religions are very different, and they are conditioned to be tolerant towards other people's religious beliefs.
