Not at all.  It's trivial to serialize any algorithm.  Anything which
can run on a parallel computer can run on a serial computer.  The
only problem is that the serial computer is likely to be much slower.

I can't tell if you're joking here.  If you aren't, then:

1) I don't know why you're participating in a philosophy discussion if
   you think that philosophy is bunk.

2) Please read Ayn Rand's _Philosophy: Who Needs It_.

I believe the same, but your reason for your belief is invalid.  How
long ago it would have been eliminated depends on how long ago it
started.  For all you know, it began last Tuesday during lunch (you
don't have any proof that you were conscious, or even in existence,
before then) and will end at midnight tonight.
