As it turns out, YOUR WISHES, if properly written down, precede those of your wife or anyone else, legally. At least in California (I don't know the situation in Mass.) you can also name someone to make medical decisions on your behalf. This person doesn't have to be your wife... or any relative. (That's important because of the practical problem which may arise in preventing your wife from stopping your suspension). You may wish to consult a local lawyer on these issues, or else ask a local cryonics authority, who should be able to tell you what the legal situation in your state is. It's also extremely important that you execute the required legal documents rather than simply write down your wishes. As I understand the situation, doing the latter can remain open to legal attack, while if done in the proper form you are safe. I must admit I'm lucky here, in that my own wife is also a Suspension Member. What to say to someone who doesn't like the idea, that's a hard one and has been ever since we started.
