X-Message-Number: 3934 From: Date: Wed, 1 Mar 1995 10:38:32 -0500 Subject: remote speakers Joseph Strout has asked for campus speakers, and Robin Helweg-Larsen is interested in speaking engagements, as he travels and speaks for a living. Two comments: 1. Cryonics Institute and Immortalist Society printed materials (and later videos) are or will be available, in reasonable amounts and with reasonable notice, to anyone who requests them. 2. We have not yet made use of available vidphone resources for remote teleconferencing. I think this should be done, and as soon as I get a chance I'll look into it in here. It will certainly not be cheap--but should still be much cheaper than travel. (And more convenient--I hate traveling.) For example, if I am at one end and a class or group at the other, and especially if we have previously sent printed material, we can have live interaction much more efficiently than by travel. We could probably even have more than one organization represented, all from home base.
