This is a very tardy reply to my comments about learning (of a sort) in our spinal cord. Basically as I understand it, too, some of what we learn (in terms of how to move) does affect our spinal cord. However I said more than that in my original message: I was pointing out that what we want to keep depends in a complex way on what our own values and sense of self may be. I am myself a neuropreservation person: I have opted for my brain only to be preserved. In making that choice I was guided by what I felt was important for myself and to myself. Even learning to walk again would not bother me. But knowing what I want to keep also tells me that others may be different, and that is why I brought up ballet. There is no GENERAL problem with neuropreservation. It's simply that it may not satisfy some people for entirely rational reasons. Best and long life to all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=3996
