Hi!

This is a very tardy reply to my comments about learning (of a sort) in our
spinal cord. Basically as I understand it, too, some of what we learn (in
terms of how to move) does affect our spinal cord.

However I said more than that in my original message: I was pointing out that
what we want to keep depends in a complex way on what our own values and
sense of self may be. I am myself a neuropreservation person: I have opted for
my brain only to be preserved. In making that choice I was guided by what I
felt was important for myself and to myself. Even learning to walk again would
not bother me. But knowing what I want to keep also tells me that others may
be different, and that is why I brought up ballet.

There is no GENERAL problem with neuropreservation. It's simply that it may not
satisfy some people for entirely rational reasons.

Best and long life to all,
